Comedian to host charity event in Leeds
A comedian, and one of the most famous supporters of Leeds United, is set to visit the city later this month, so that he can host a special comedy gala in aid of charity.
Jon Richardson has become a well-known face among comedy fans thanks to his regular appearances on the panel show ‘8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown’. Now he is set to use that fame for good by headlining a gala that will take place at the Leeds O2 Academy. The event is being put together to raise cash for a charity called Backpack Buddies.
The charity gives youngsters who come from disadvantaged backgrounds backpacks full of food, with the aim of making sure they are properly fed. Richardson’s spouse and fellow comic Lucy Beaumont will also part of the line-up at the gala, alongside another fan of the Whites - Micky P Kerr – as well as Simon Lomas, Barbara Nice and Lost Voice Guy.
The organisers of events like this sometimes use flyer printing supplied by print outlets in Leeds to help with promoting them. However, with so many popular comedians coming together on the same bill, it seems likely that tickets for the Afternoon Comedy Gala will be snapped up quickly.
This event is due to take place on 29th March and it will get underway at 2pm.
