The match was held to generate funds for Cash for Kids, and its charity manager, Lisa Sullivan, told the Yorkshire Evening Post:
“The money raised will make a massive difference to sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in Leeds and West Yorkshire.”
This was the good cause that saw a team made up of stars from television take on one consisting of radio disc jockeys, listeners who donated money and ex-professional football players, with over £12,000 being raised for the charity.
The venue for the match was the John Charles Centre for Sport, which is located in the Beeston suburb of South Leeds, and hundreds of residents turned out to watch the game.
Like other local charity fundraisers, the organisers of the match had the option of calling on a Print company in Leeds to provide the promotional poster printing that is needed to make sure people know all about it, and the cause it is raising cash for.
Amongst the well known names that were out there on the football pitch were Luke Roskell, who starred in the BBC drama Waterloo Road, and ex-Leeds United players Kev Sharp and Noel Whelan, with the team of celebrities securing a 4-0 win.Get a Free Quote for Print
