This project is being called ‘Street Stories’ and it is the brainchild of Found Fiction, a literary organisation based in the city. The aim is to honour the voices of those who have lived in the Quarry Hill district, which is the city’s cultural quarter and home to Leeds Playhouse as well as other arts groups.
The project will see writers who live in Leeds produce brief micro-fiction stories that will be put on show throughout the district, using some of its main buildings, derelict areas and public spaces. Graphic Design Services in Leeds can help when it comes to visual arts projects like this.
These stories are set to be a blend of fiction and fact and the hope is that they will help people learn about Quarry Hill’s history in a fun and accessible way. Speaking to Keighley News, project leader Steve Clarkson said:
“There’s a lot of inspiration to be found in Quarry Hill, which is a fascinating part of Leeds that’s riddled with hidden history, voices and characters.”
