80s Classical coming back to Leeds

It will be time for nostalgia lovers in Leeds to dig out the shoulder pads and hairspray this summer, as a 1980s music night featuring stars of the era comes to town.

80s Classical sees some of the top pop stars from the era of big hair and bigger tunes play their most celebrated songs accompanied by a full blown symphony orchestra. It will be the third time that Leeds has played host to this event, with Johnny Hates Jazz, Five Star singer Denise Pearson, Belinda Carlisle and Kim Wilde among those already confirmed to be performing.

They will reinterpret the songs that made them famous during the decade with the 60-piece Orchestra of Opera North. Graphic design outlets in Leeds can help the organisers of events such as this to create appealing promotional Posters for them.

As with the previous two occasions, the Millennium Square will be the location for the show. Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Kim Wilde stated that:

“Leeds is always such a great, welcoming place to visit and to play, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to perform some of my best-loved songs in front of a 60-piece symphony orchestra.”

The support act for the show will be DJs Sonic Yootha, who are based in Liverpool. The 80s Classical 2022 event is scheduled to take place on 22nd July.
