Hotel chain expanding in Hampshire
Travelodge declared that it intends to grow its business by opening seven hotels within Hampshire.
The hotel chain claimed that its Hampshire initiative would entail the creation of over 200 local jobs. Fareham, Hedge End, Lymington, Portsmouth, Gosport, Southsea, and Winchester have been earmarked as sites for development. When the work is completed, promotional items from Southampton Hedge End could be used for marketing purposes.
A spokesperson for Travelodge, Shalika Ahmed, told the Daily Echo:
Ahmed pointed out that the local economy is enjoying strong growth. Furthermore, she indicated that the current trend is for visitor numbers to rise. As a consequence, Travelodge has planned to provide more accommodation in the area with an emphasis on affordability.
Travelodge’s regional director Bryn Taylor implied that the potential for growth in Hampshire was high. He stated that local results showed an increase in business customers. The organisation has recently opened a hotel in Andover. In addition, Taylor highlighted there has been significant investment in upgrading the quality of the existing Travelodge hotels in the region.
An executive at Hampshire’s Chamber of Commerce, Maureen Frost, welcomed the growth policy of the hotel chain. She commented that the move underlined corporate confidence in the health of the local economy.
