Hedge End to behold Christmas Classic

A play adapted from a festive favourite from a beloved Victorian novelist is coming to a theatre in Hedge End, Southampton in late autumn.

Preparing the way for the Yuletide season, the Berry Theatre in Southampton’s Hedge End will present Charles Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol” in November. Boasting a BBC star cast, the production will feature Dr Who’s Colin Baker and Blue Peter’s Peter Purves. Theatres putting on festive plays and pantomimes often reach out to gifted poster printing services that can fashion adverts including seasonal motifs to capture the spirit of Christmas.

The upcoming production is presented by the multi-talented Crime and Comedy theatre Company and has a unique take on the Dickens classic. While still featuring the story of everyone’s favourite miser Ebenezer Scrooge, the play takes the form of a live radio play of A Christmas Carol with actors in a studio broadcasting the tale of redemption and charity.

A Christmas Carol will now be on stage at the Berry Theatre on Friday, November 22. The performance will start at 7.30 pm and will last one hour and 45 minutes. The theatre can be found based on Wildern Lane in Hedge End, Southampton. Full price tickets for the show cost £22.50 and concessions (over 60s, under 16s, students, armed forces and NHS) are available for £19.50.
