New festival to be held in Cambridge

People in Cambridge will have the opportunity to mix music and food this summer, as a popular festival hits town for the first time.

The Foodies Festival has been given the nickname ‘Gastro Glastonbury’ and now it will be coming to Cambridge for the first time. It is set to feature both international bands like headliners ‘Scouting for Girls’, and local artists. In addition to these musical performances, there will be cookery displays by the likes of Daniel Clifford, who won the Great British Menu.

The food section will also be represented by chilli eating competitions, a Kids Cookery School, Cakes and Desserts Theatre and Street Food Village. It is being brought to Cambridge after the organisers teamed up with charity, Musicians against Homelessness and will be raising cash for Crisis UK.

Emma Rule, who put together Musicians against Homelessness, came up with the idea of hosting it in Cambridge. Graphic Design Services can help with the creation of promotional Posters for events like this.

Daniel Clifford told Cambridge Live:

“I am looking forward to showing the people of Cambridge some of my favourite dishes from Midsummer House, as well as teaching visitors a few of my tips and techniques that visitors can then replicate at home in their own kitchens.”

It will take place from 28th to 30th June at Parker’s Piece.
