Although further acts will be declared in due course, the 2016 roster is studded with established stars already. Ireland’s Christy Moore, America’s Mary Chapin Carpenter and Barnsley’s Kate Rusby have all committed themselves to the festival. Poster printing and promotional Drinkware might be used to maximise interest in the various gigs. The entertainment trust for the city is generating publicity for the festival and a spokesperson for Cambridge Live said:
"We're expecting sell out crowds again this year, with four covered stages, and tickets are now on sale. More major names are to be announced."
It has been estimated that the events could bring a crowd of 14,000 people to the Cambridge area. The CFF was first held way back in 1965 and it has an established venue. Folk fans will be welcome at Cherry Hinton Hall during the last few days of July.
Christy Moore will play on a Saturday night, while Mary Chapin Carpenter is scheduled to take to the stage on the following Sunday. The band Gogol Bordello will perform during the festival and its blend of folk and punk may help to broaden the appeal of the occasion. Imelda May is set to perform in a rockabilly style. Eliza Carthy, a veteran of the folk scene who has been nominated for a radio prize, will play with The Wayward Band on the Sunday.
