Plans for a housing development close to a local shopping centre have been submitted to Cambridge City Council.
This development would be built at Christchurch Street, on the site that used to be occupied by Stanton House. It is very close to the Grafton Centre, which is currently undergoing major redevelopment works. If the local authority approves the plans, a total of 29 new homes would be constructed on the 0.2-hectare site. They would include 12 flats with one bedroom that would be contained within their own distinct block.
When local developers have new flats or houses available, brochure printing outlets in Cambridge can be useful. They can supply Brochures that feature photographs of the homes.
Stanton House was a two-storey building that consisted of sheltered housing. It was built during the 1960s and the housing department of Cambridge City Council managed it. The building was knocked down last year as it was no longer needed.
A document that was submitted alongside the application indicates that the block of 12 flats would be supported accommodation. It would house people who have mental health conditions and learning disabilities.
According to that document from the developer, the other 17 proposed flats would be affordable homes. They would be a mix of three, two and one-bedroom flats.
A date for Cambridge City Council to announce its decision has not yet been revealed.
