Musicians who will be taking to the stage at the annual Cambridge Folk Festival later this year have now been announced, and they encompass a wide range of musical styles.
Artists from Americana, country and folk genres will be among those on the bill this year. The line-up also includes people who have never played at the festival before.
Tatiana Hargreaves and Allison De Groot, a folk duo from Canada, will be among the debut performers at this year’s event. Others visiting for the first time are Birdvox, a four-piece from Scotland, and Butler, Blake and Grant. This trio is made up of Bernard Butler, Norman Blake and James Grant.
The 2024 festival is set to mark its 60th anniversary. The venue for it will be Cherry Hinton Hall, whose grounds offer the perfect setting for a summer festival of soothing sounds. Flyer printing from shops in Cambridge can be used by the organisers of local music festivals as one of their promotional tools.
Other musicians who are confirmed to appear are Darlingside, an indie-folk band from Boston, and FARA, a violin trio from Orkney. It is not just about live music though, as the festival will also feature song writing and instrument building workshops; activities designed for children; clog dancing and traditional storytelling.
The Cambridge Folk Festival will take place between Thursday, 25 and Sunday, 28 July.
