The business awards were presented at the Great Hall within King’s College this year. The main speaker for the event was the radio presenter Justin Webb. If the ceremony goes ahead in 2018 then printing services in Cambridge might receive a welcome boost.
The managing director of Cambridge News and Media, Richard Duxbury, told Cambridge News:
“No-one will have quite predicted the events of the last 12 months, but what stands out now is the incredible resilience and can-do attitude of our local business community.”
Internet television company Amino took top prize for 2017. It has been up and running for two decades. Furthermore, it is now classified as a large enterprise by the organisers of the awards. The turnover of Amino has been growing significantly. In addition, its executives have seized opportunities on the other side of the Atlantic in recent times.
Lynn Morgan was the recipient of the prize for business person of the year. She is the current chief executive at a hospice charity. Under her leadership, her organisation constructed a fresh hospice in Shelford Bottom.
Quite a large number of businesses elected to participate in the awards contest this time around. In fact, it was the largest amount of entries recorded since the beginning of the scheme back in 1994.
