The organisation has a track record of cooperating with local authorities, schools and firms to deliver opportunities to children in the area. It could use a Print company within Cambridge for promotional purposes.
Anne Bailey, a coordinator who is employed by the partnership, has told the Cambridge News:
"I know a couple of employers who really love having young people around. Sometimes they say they really changed their approach to using the internet, and young people can really offer something different to a business."
However, Ms. Bailey has made clear that the students can benefit greatly from encountering the challenges of the workplace. She has pointed out that some young people can get a work placement via their parents, but has indicated that this is not possible for everyone.
Bailey has confirmed that about 100 places are needed by the partnership to make the year a successful one. The idea is that an initial placement should last for three weeks. If both parties are satisfied with the outcomes, it may be possible for the arrangement to be repeated at a later date.
She has stated that participating students are obliged to attend an interview. This process is intended to teach the young people essential skills for the future.
