Vaughan to offer purr-fect pets
Anyone considering adding a feline friend to their home should look no further than the animal shelter north of the Vaughan region, which right now is brimming over with cats waiting for adoption. Until August 4, the Georgina Animal Control is holding a Cat-Adopt-A-Thon to encourage people to come in and find a new friend. The adoption center reports that they are overflowing with friendly cats waiting to find a new home, many of whom have been in cages for months.
To boost the adoption rate, cats older than six months are available at a reduced rate of $50, compared to the usual price of $150. The price includes micro-chipping, vaccinations, and spaying and neutering, all of which add up to a considerable price in veterinarian fees.
Those interested in giving a cat a home can visit the Petfinder website, which is the adoption center for more than 350,000 pets in North America. Type in ‘cat’ in the pet type box, then ‘Georgina, Ontario’ in the location box. You will then see a list of the cats available for adoption. Each has a photo and a name, such as ‘Crazy Mary’, a beautiful short hair black cat or ‘Bunny’, a tabby cat with white paws and chin.
The information, including address of the adoption center, photo, and a brief bio of the cat can be printed from the website or emailed to a friend. The Georgina adoption center offers brochure printing on how to care for pets to ensure that they are provided with a healthy living environment.
