Vaughan hosts mixed-media art exhibit

Artists from Vaughan and the rest of the GTA now have their works on display in Vaughan’s City Hall atrium gallery.

The 8th annual juried exhibition, ‘On the Slate’, is taking place until March 6th, and features works using a wide variety of media, including photography, mixed media, fine art, and more.

It is being promoted as an ‘integration project’, and all of it will be by local artists.

One piece of work will be specially selected to be installed in a dedicated public space within the city. The artist who created it will be paid an honorarium by the city for the purchase of their work. It will eventually be displayed as part of the city’s collection.

The exhibition is being organized and hosted by Vaughn’s Culture and Recreation Department. It is open to the public during regular corporate business hours. Admission is free, and there is also plenty of parking available free of charge.

The exhibition provides an opportunity for the public to get to know the local artistic community a little bit better. Brochure printers can create pamphlets that explain the different works, and they can even create signage and other promotional items for use during the show. Professionals can likewise Print poster-style reproductions of the original works at the artists’ permission, so that people will be able to enjoy them in their own home.
