Vaughan Film Festival accepting submissions
One of the country’s biggest celebrations of the film industry is now accepting submissions from indie moviemakers.
Organizers of the Vaughan Film Festival, which is set to take place next year, have outlined two categories for independent film writers and directors who want to submit work to the event in 2015.
Students from the Vaughan area can send in their short films, while independent filmmakers from all over the world can submit theirs to the international category. All works must be less than 20 minutes long and international pieces can be submitted by the early bird deadline December 31st, or the regular one on January 31st, while the student pieces must be sent in time for the latter date.
Cinema is not the only artistic medium that will be featured. Artists who create paintings, sculptures, or other pieces are invited to submit their artwork, and the winning items will be displayed during the awards gala, which will be held at the end of the festival.
According to the event’s co-founder, Antoio Leco, the number of films that have been received for review has really grown since it first started. It gives independent filmmakers a chance to showcase their work, and poster printing firms can help by creating promotional materials for the event. This will help to generate public interest and ensure their participation.
