The Holiday Fair in the Square, a month-long marketplace and attraction, will soon be opening in Vaughan with a special light show addition.
The event transforms Vaughan’s Assembly Park into a holiday spectacular. The Artisan Marketplace will provide visitors a chance to shop local small businesses and crafters. The fair will also feature Tasty Festive Fare and a Polar Point Bar to provide food and drink.
At the centre of the fair will be a 50-foot Christmas tree surrounded by lights and decorations. On weekends, kids can visit Santa and enjoy the holiday Midway. There will also be various live entertainment at the Fair in the Square throughout the month.
The fair will be partnering with Nights of Lights this year to provide a special walk-through light display. The display will feature over a million LED lights with animations synchronized to holiday music across four tunnels.
Drive-through and walk-through displays have become popular over the past few years as an alternative to mass-attendance events, and they are often advertised through tools like poster printing and social media. The light show will take place after dark and will require a ticket, unlike the rest of the Fair in the Square.
The Holiday Fair in the Square will run between November 26 to December 30, with some Mondays and Tuesdays off, at Assembly Park on Interchange Way and Vaughan. The Nights of Lights display will take place on select nights during this period, as well as the New Years’ holidays.
