Throwback concert headed to Vaughan
An upcoming concert will bring a slew of classic 1990s musical artists to Vaughan for a weekend of nostalgia.
The event will feature three concerts, each focusing on a different style of music. The Friday show will be a “Freestyle Fiesta” featuring artists such as Grammy Award-winning “Elvis Crespo, Stevie B, and Fito Blank.
Saturday will bring the “Electric Circus”, which will feature a more pop-oriented line-up, including Scandinavian “Barbie Girl” hitmakers Aqua, Dutch party-pop group Vengaboys, Eiffel 65 and Jenny Breggren of Ace of Base fame. The series will conclude with a Rap City concert headlined by hip-hop legends such as Southern rap pioneer Ludacris, Billboard-topping rapper Ja Rule, Ashanti and Kardinal Offishall.
The concert series is part of a broader 90s Nostalgia Tour that will also feature stops in cities like Winnipeg, St. John’s and Calgary. The concerts will have dedicated tickets for the front of the crowd and will also feature a VIP area with full catering and a raised viewing platform. Concerts like this have become a popular way to relive multiple acts from past decades, typically promoted with retro graphic design and media, and they have become a second life for many popular artists.
