What's Happening in Vaughan, ON…

The fruits of financing explored in Vaughan

When people are starting a new business, there are all sorts of things to be done. Thankfully, there are plenty of resources available in Canada for those starting up a new business, and this is an area in which the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce will be assisting in January.

After the decision on what type of business to start has been made and the business plan has been written, the next thing to worry about is getting the financing to get that business off the ground. In addition, some already established companies also need extra financial aid and do not always know where to turn for help.

To address this, the chamber will be holding a round table discussion called "Government resources: how to locate programs and how to use them" which should answer many of the questions that new and current business owners may have. The discussion will feature special guest speaker Bernadeen McLeod of Mentor Works Inc., who specializes in government grants and loans. The round table will discuss financing sources, such as government departments and banks. Everyone who attends will definitely come away with more information and will have already developed a plan for getting more financing from those resources. It might also be a good networking opportunity for Vaughan businesspeople so placing a business card printing order in advance of attending would be wise.

The session will take place at the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce office on January 29 from 7:30 am - 9:30 am. Breakfast will be served. For more information, contact Dee Dee Marco at 905-761-1366 x223.
