Pizza festival to return to Vaughan

Billing itself as “North America’s Largest Pizza Festival”, Vaughan Pizzafest will be back for a full weekend of food and entertainment this March.

The event allows attendees to sample from over 40 different food vendors. In addition to the namesake pizza, there will also be pasta and desserts on offer, as well as refreshments both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. A list of participating pizzerias and other restaurants will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. The Pizzafest event first launched in 2016 and boasted 16,000 attendees consuming over 40,000 slices of pizza and 10,000 cans of beer. Since then, the event has continued to grow each year it has been held.

There will also be live music throughout the event by a series of local bands. The first night of Pizzafest will be the music-focused “Freestyle Friday”, with performances by Stevie B & his band, Lil Suzy, Cover Girls and other artists. Pizzafest combines the craft-oriented food festival with the concert, two popular types of events that are often promoted through methods like poster printing and radio advertisements around the city.

The 2022 edition of Vaughan Pizzafest is currently scheduled for March 25 to 27 at Universal Event Space. If the weekend event is unable to be held, there is a back-up date on June 24 at an outdoor space in Vaughan.
