What's Happening in Vaughan, ON…

MMA makes a splash in Ontario

Fans of full contact Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in Ontario will be hotly anticipating the Octagon making an appearance at Windsor’s Caesars Colosseum on April 8. Poster and banner printers in Vaughan will be on hand to publicize the event, which is expected to draw in huge crowds. Curiously, MMA was actually illegal in the province of Ontario until just this past January when the province finally lifted its ban. Since the legalization of the sport in the province, MMA events have been cropping up like wildfire all across the area, evidence of the sport's increasing popularity and growing fanbase. The UFC was successful in selling some 42,000 tickets on the first day of sale for a show at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Additionally, on April 2, just north of Toronto at Casino Rama, one more MMA event is already all set to go.

The sport, despite all the controversy surrounding it, is one of the biggest and most profitable around. Promoters of Windsor’s upcoming event in early April anticipate that the event will be selling out its 4800 seats in relatively quick order.

Maximum Fighting Championship is the host of the Windsor event, which is no coincidence. Its owner, Mark Pavelich, is from Windsor, and he is not shy about confessing to the fact that he himself pushed for the MMA event for his hometown.

As Mr Pavelich is keen to make the event a local one, no doubt he will be enlisting the services of print companies in Vaughan and the surrounding area to ensure the spectacle is a success.
