Former Toronto printing company employee innovates with his own company

Employees at stationery printing firms in Vaughan, Ontario, may be inspired by the personal story of a former print company employee. A former computer department employee at a Toronto printing company is now making his own mark by having opened his own printing company.

Vietnamese immigrant John Phan emigrated to Canada when he was only 14 years old. He graduated from B.C.’s Simon Fraser University in 1987; his major was computer science. After working in the computer department of a Toronto printer, he became engrossed with digital printing. This led to him moving to Calgary and taking a job with Precision Colour; he stayed with them for 15 years.

Recently, Phan started his own printing company called Anvy Digital, which was borne out of humble roots. At the beginning, Phan leased 1700 square feet for his print company, and he only had one employee on his payroll. Today, Phan’s Anvy Digital employs 16 people while leasing three bays inside of an industrial building complex.

Anvy Digital offers unconventional printing services to its customers. One of the more uncommon printing methods that Phan has devised is to allow customers to actually print images directly onto aluminum that is folded onto a frame.
Phan has proven that local stationery printing services in Vaughan, Ontario, can offer local customers the kind of service that is hard to find with online companies, and that their continued patronage means that a range of cutting edge services can be offered to them.
