Classic bike ride to run through Vaughan
The Vaughan Schomberg Vaughan Spring Classic bicycle ride will take place this May, with the goal of raising money for a charitable cause.
The annual bike run takes place across two routes, one 50 kilometres and one 90, going through the city of Vaughan. The ride starts and finishes at the Magnotta Winery, and participants will receive sample drink tickets as well as a charcuterie and pizza lunch after finishing the ride. The post-ride festivities will also include live music and a draw for a $500 gift card from the winery. The run is not timed or compared, with the aim of encouraging participants to challenge their personal bests and support each other. The ride is also hosted by Hustle Pro Cycling.
Funds raised through registration and additional donations will go towards the G. Magnotta Foundation, which provides money for research into Lyme Disease treatment and cures, including Canada’s first Lyme Disease Research Lab in Guelph. IN addition to the bike ride, the foundation also holds an annual golf tournament and other charitable events. Fundraising events such as this often use sporting competitions, banner printing, and other eye-catching activities to help spread the word about good causes.
The 2024 Vaughan Schomberg Vaughan Spring Classic will take place on the morning of May 4, with the ride kicking off at the Magnotta Winery.
