Charity event aims to raise up York Region

This September will see the debut of a new charitable event in the Vaughan area, as “Raise Up Your Hood” looks to raise awareness and funds for people with epilepsy.

The event will take the form of a classic show-and-shine, inviting people from across York Region and beyond to shine up their cars, motorcycles, and other types of vehicles to show them off in a public gathering. The best-looking vehicles in a variety of categories will receive awards. There will also be food available and live music from VenRose Entertainment.

The goal is to attract classic car lovers and others from nearby areas such as Vaughan to enjoy a day in the sun while raising awareness and contributing to a good cause. Raise Up Your Hood will aim to both provide education about epilepsy in modern society and raise money for Epilepsy York Region, which offers services and awareness-raising focused on the condition. While attendance is free, the group will be gathering funds through registration fees for entered vehicles, as well as a 50/50 draw.

Charitable events such as this often use methods like poster printing and local media advertising to draw in both donors and attendees, and they can be a major part of charitable organizations’ annual fundraising.

Raise Up Your Hood will take place on the afternoon of September 10 at Assembly Park in Woodbridge.
