This year marks a very special time in the history of TL Kennedy Secondary School, as it celebrates its 60th year in existence.
To help celebrate the occasion, a reunion evening will be held for former students who attended the school in the 1950s and 60s.
Named in honor of former MPP Thomas Liard Kennedy, the school was built in 1953, and had an initial enrolment of just 450 high school students. Over the years, the school has grown and it now boasts a student body of over 900. It continues to excel the fields of academics, sports and other extra-curricular activities.
The reunion is scheduled to be held from 6:00 to 12:00pm on Saturday at Le Treport Convention Center on the Queensway, and will feature a guest appearance from Mississauga’s mayor, Hazel McCallion.
There will be a buffet style meal, wine at the table, a cash bar, and a DJ. Special decorations and Banners will be produced by a printing company to help lend an even more festive air to the occasion.
The cost for the party will be $75 per person, and tickets can be purchased by visiting the event’s website or by emailing wammilne@rogers.com, where more information can also be found.
It has been requested that tickets are purchased as soon as possible, as this will assist in planning the buffet. They will not be available for purchase at the door. The evening is is expected to be a fun time for all those who attend.
