Mississauga’s music school had so much success with last year’s fundraiser for a local women’s shelter, it decided to do it all over again.
In its first year, ‘Rock it Up’ raised over $1,400 in one night, and the organization hopes that this year will be even better.
The event will be held at the Failte Irish Pub in the city center, and will feature a variety of music acts to suit almost anyone’s taste – ranging from hard rock to jazz and even folk.
The locally based hard rock band Trove will be just one of the groups to perform. There will also be jazz music by Arlene Paculan, folk tunes by Jake Warwick and the rock group Polarity will provide some acoustical numbers to round out the evening.
There will also be a guest speaker on hand to discuss the issue of abuse against women, and the need for them to have a place to go in times of crisis when they may not have any safe haven to turn to. This way, the event will not also raise money for the Interim Pace women’s shelter, but also awareness of the urgent need for help.
An event like this can do even more to raise awareness through the use of Banners, Flyers, Brochures and other items that have been produced by a Print company.
The musical evening will take place on November 6th, and tickets will be $10.00Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Brochures Get a Free Quote for Banners
