The residents of Mississauga have been celebrating after the city received an award from a specialist business magazine.
Competing against 79 other communities across both North and South America, Mississauga came first in Foreign Direct Investment’s Overall Mid-Sized City of the Future category.
The selection was made based on what the city offers those who are considering business expansion, how much economic development there has been and also the levels of inward investment.
The city also took top spot for overall business friendliness, second place for economic potential, and fourth place for infrastructure and foreign direct investment; all highlighting the area’s growth potential.
The magazine ranked more than 422 different towns and cities of all sizes. The ratings were decided upon using independently collected data and the opinions of several experts in the field.
The publication has a circulation of over 15,000, and is geared towards corporate decision makers. This makes the award especially helpful to Mississauga, as it will let investors and other people know that the city is an ideal choice for their next venture.
It is hoped that there will be great economic benefits for the community, and that many current businesses will see increases in the demand for their services. Printing companies in Mississauga may well benefit from the announcement as office providers and small businesses look to show off the city’s new title in their promotional materials. Brochures could, for example, highlight the fact that a company is located in the area.
