A Mississauga area zoo that is home to some clever escape artists has planned a virtual fundraiser, and it will feature a visit from two of its most famous residents.
The Friends of High Park Zoo will be giving young and old alike the chance to meet Bonnie and Clyde, its two capybaras. Capybaras are the world’s largest rodent and hail from South America. The group will be raising money to make Canadian winters more comfortable for the pair, and the goal is to raise $4,500 to help meet the cost of the heaters that have been installed in the site’s new capybara building.
The virtual activity will include the meet and greet, as well as a reading of “Runaway Rodent”, which was penned by Dagmara Bociek. A game for all ages will be organized, and while the suggested donation is $25, everyone is welcome to pay what they feel they can afford. Anyone who requires a tax receipt is asked to make their donation directly to the Friends of High Park Zoo.
Due to the pandemic, many event organizers have had to revamp their functions so that they can be held online. Print shops can supply them with a range of services and support, including providing backdrops and other oversize printed materials.
The Giving Tuesday 2021: It’s ALL about the Capybaras! event is scheduled for November 27th. It will start at 11:00 am. Get a Free Quote for Print
