The Mississauga Quilters Guild wants to share the beauty of quilts with the rest of the community, and its upcoming show will allow the public to view them for themselves.
This annual showcase of the area’s quilting talents will run for two days, and its organizers have packed its agenda with live demos, raffles, a mini auction and lots of other activities as well. Its merchant market offers a chance for quilters to stock up on supplies while discovering the latest in crafting products.
The guild will have a selection of handmade quilts for sale, and the mini quilts auction will provide another opportunity for the attendees to snag a handmade piece for themselves. The Guild Café, meanwhile, will offer a place for the attendees to relax over some light refreshments, and the whole event will have aim to provide an upbeat feel, and one welcoming to all. This celebration of the beauty of a handmade quilt will be held on May 8 and 9 in the Burnhamthorpe Community Centre and Chic Murray Arena. Admission is by advanced ticket purchase, although it is possible to pay the entry fee at the door.
