London to host Works job fair

A major job and recruiting fair will take place in London, Ontario this April.

Called London & Area Works, the event hopes to connect Southern Ontario job seekers with hiring companies. Organizers expect upwards of 1,500 people and dozens of companies and employment agencies being involved.

The Works brand is part of a collaboration with the local branch of CTV News, which maintains a section on its website highlighting interesting jobs and skill-building opportunities.

Among the companies who will be looking for talent at the job fair are national brands like TD Bank and CARFAX Canada along with local employers like the London Transit Commission and Courtney Roofing.

Also involved will be employment services like Drake International, Knight Hunter, and the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. Even if attendees don’t leave with a job, they might still take another step down the road to one.

The London & Area Works fair will take place on April 16 at the Western Fair Agriplex. Job-seekers are encouraged to dress well and come prepared, which might entail a trip to local Print shops for resumé and business card printing.

Registration is still open for employers and employment agencies, while attendance for job-seekers is free of charge. The fair is looking to be a biannual event, and has another event schedule for September 24 of this year.
