Community Employment Services Fanshawe will be offering a series of seminars in the new year under the title of Job Search Strategies.
The program looks to target job seekers at the beginning of the search process and help them make their search as productive and efficient as possible.
The workshops will be stand-alone sessions, but should be registered for in advance. The instructor will break down each step of the job search process and what to expect along the way. Attendees may get a better idea of how to utilize tools like online job boards, classified ads, Business Cards, resumes and printing services.
Between digital technology and changes in the labour market, job hunting is very different than it was a generation ago, but still is rarely taught in a formal way, creating the need for seminars like this.
The workshop is a part of the larger Community Employment Program at Fanshawe College, presented with support from Employment Ontario. The program includes other workshops on topics like interviews, personality profiles, cover letter writing, and LinkedIn.
Fanshawe also offers a drop-in office where job-seekers can access resources and meet with consultants. They can also provide referrals to other provincially-supported programs in the area.
The first Job Search Strategies seminar of 2020 will take place on the afternoon of January 14 at Fanshawe’s Nelson Plaza campus.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
