The two-day festival will feature 15 or more vendors offering Jamaican-style barbecue and other Caribbean cuisine. Participating “Jerk Shacks” will include Twin Dem Kitchen, Authentic Flavour 630, and Macky’s Jerk Hut and Grill. Drinks on offer include special JerkFest Lager, rum punch coolers, mocktails and fresh fruit smoothies. Vendors will also be selling take-home bottles of jerk marinades and artisan crafts representing small businesses from throughout the London area as part of an artisan market area.
In addition to food and drink, the weekend will feature live music provided by international DJs, and family-friendly activities like face painting and games. The festival was first established in 2023 by a group of friends in honour of JJ “Jigga” Jones. Community festivals like this often provide opportunities for local businesses and organizations to connect to people using Business Cards and casual conversation. Organizers emphasize the community nature of the festival, with promotional material urging locals to:
“Join in the Ultimate Summer Jerk Cookout! Come for the Food. Stay for the People!”
The 2025 edition of JJ’s Jerk Fest will occur on August 9 and 10 at the Covent Garden Market in Rotary Square in London.
