The annual festival brings together bakeries, restaurants and retailers offering food without gluten from nearby areas such as London North and Niagara. This type of food has become popular in recent years for people with issues such as celiac disease and gluten intolerance as well as health reasons. Confirmed vendors include Annie’s Seafood Restaurant, Bruno’s Bakery and Cafe, and Planted in Hamilton. The event is also marketed to vendors as a way to network and learn about the emerging industry. The Fest also aims to bring people together for advocacy for those affected by advocacy for people with celiac issues, with promotional material stating:
“As hosts of the Gluten Free Fest and passionate advocates for gluten-free living, we are dedicated to fostering a community where people and businesses come together to celebrate and support each other.”
In addition to food, there will also be health & beauty items, vitamins and supplements. This will be the 4th annual edition of the Festival, which was founded in 2019 and is hosted in both London and the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
