London ice cream business to grow

London Ice Cream Co, which has served up scoops to the London communinty for more than 25 years, including London North, will be moving to a bigger location after this month.

The company has been operating out of the same pink building on Base Line Road since opening, but has announced that it has outgrown this location. The brand has already moved its warehouse, production and office to the new location. The Base Line Road store has long been a popular summer hangout spot, with picnic tables located outside, but it has been unable to meet demand in recent years, with social distancing restrictions limiting the store to one customer in the building at a time.

According to the London Free Press, Company Sales and Marketing Manager Abbi Lezizidis explained the emotional attachment to the previous store:

“Over the years, we had so many photos taken there, engagement photos, family photos. After one couple got married they went to London Ice Cream Co. for their pictures; they met there.”

The move will bring the store in line with London Ice Cream’s broader business, which includes selling to grocery stores and restaurants. The company’s products are available in stores across the company, including pre-packed containers of flavours like Black Raspberry Bugaboo, Real McCoy Yogurt Strawberry Manor and Granny’s Green Apple. Businesses like this often make use of a distinctive Logo Design and slogan, with London Ice Cream using the slogan “ice cream, the way it used to be”.

The Base Line Road location of London Ice Cream Co will be closing its doors on October 24. The new storefront will open at 3397 White Oak Road in the spring of 2022.
