Shock Stock, a combination convention and film festival aimed at fans of horror flicks, will be back in London this May.
The annual event offers horror fans from nearby areas such as London North and Wilton Grove a chance to see rare films, as well as interact directly with artists and celebrity guests. This year’s headlining guests include Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl, the hosts of Shudder’s popular The Last Drive-In series, and veteran horror actor Bill Moseley. There will also be vendors offering film collectibles such as Promotional Products and memorabilia, live music, afterparties, and other special events. Confirmed vendors include McRatterson’s Antiques & Oddities, Deadly Grounds coffee company, and more.
Shock Stock expanded its remit to include a miniature horror film festival last year, with new titles including The Forest Hills, Terror Toons 4, and Beyond the Speed of Life, as well as a 40th anniversary showing of the movie Sleepaway Camp. This component will be returning, with a five-day festival including a new slate of films. One of the biggest events of this year’s convention is the Shock Stock Scumbag Soiree, a concert and dance featuring performers Gelatin Skelatin, B. A. Johnston, and Sprocket Damage.
The 2024 edition of the Shock Stock convention will take place from May 3 to 5 at Ramada London. The film festival will run from May 1 to 5 at local theatres.
