This June will mark the return of Forest City ComicCon, one of London’s biggest gatherings for pop culture fans, gamers, artists, and others.
The day of events will feature a number of special competitions and presentations, including nerd-inspired 404s Improv Comedy, a contest for the best cosplays or pop culture-inspired costume, panels and workshops, and a Japanese-style maid cafe. This year’s special guests include X-Men actor Stefan Kapicic, voice acting veteran Ivan Sherry, and comic artist Mike del Mundo.
There will be space for both video and tabletop gaming, including a board game lounge and tournaments for video games such as Beat Saber and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The convention will also feature two exhibition floors full of exhibitors, ranging from comic and collectible shops to visual artists, with confirmed exhibitors including Dan the Dice Guy and Mocha Kitten Art.
Booths will be open for face painting and for posing with dedicated cosplayers from popular franchises. Hobby and specialty businesses often use tools such as business card printing and special items to help make permanent connections with potential customers. Local food shops will be offering refreshments. Inspired by conventions in other cities, the Forest City ComiCon has been hosted annually since 2014.
The 2023 Forest City ComiCon will take place on June 24 at Centennial Hall in London North. Kids aged 12 and under will enter free with adult supervision.
