Annual fair to return to London North area

One of London’s biggest fairs will be returning with a bang this September as the Western Fair marks the traditional end of summer.

This will be the first full-fledged Western Fair since 2019, and organizers are hoping to make it a triumphant return. There will be a full carnival-style midway with rides such as the Niagara Falls Flume, Crazy Mouse Coaster, and the traditional Giant Wheel, and traditional games ranging from whac-a-mole to skeeball. There will also be a number of special attractions and entertainment such as the Canine Circus, specialized Smash Wrestling shows, and the Hockey Circus Show that combines Canada’s game with zany stunts.

2022 will also mark the return of live music to the Western Fair, with two special concerts held in the new London Major Appliances Olympic Bowl. Both shows will feature Canadian talent, with one headlined by Valley and New Friends while the other show features rock hitmakers Finger Eleven and I Mother Earth. The fair includes a marketplace area where fairgoers can shop local vendors offering everything from crafts to food. Markets such as this typically see vendors using special sales or colourful banner printing to stand out from the crowd.

The 2022 Western Fair will take place at the Western Fair District close to London North, and run from September 9 to 18.
