Savvy gardeners know how to combine perennials, bulbs and other flowering plants in way that offers colour and interest throughout the growing season, and an upcoming workshop in Winnipeg will share this knowledge with a group of budding green thumbs.
Nature Manitoba will be hosting the A Blooming Parade – Choosing Perennials for your Garden class, which will teach attendees how to choose native species and other plants for the home garden that have a variety of bloom times. It is open to members and non-members alike, and those who hold a membership will be able to access a discounted registration price.
Marilyn Latta, who will be the leader for the activity, will discuss the advantages of choosing perennials and how they can be combined with flowering bulbs as well as native species to provide garden flowers from early spring until fall. This may be helpful in attracting pollinators, and also in making a garden visually appealing. The attendees can ask questions, and the class will run for one and half hours.
Gardening offers the opportunity to reconnect with nature, and those who enjoy the hobby may welcome the chance to learn some new techniques. Stationery printers can prepare Copies of handouts as well as inexpensive yet effective marketing materials for an event like this one.
