Winnipeg university offer academic writing workshop

Learners who are beginning their post-secondary studies at the University of Winnipeg will be able to brush up on their academic writing skills when they participate in an upcoming class.

The Writing at University workshop will be on offer to students this April. According to the institution, it is a required activity for all diploma and certificate-level students who need to improve their academic writing skills or who do not already hold an undergraduate degree.

During the event, the learners will be expected to achieve certain outcomes. These include developing an understanding of the requirements for preparing written pieces at university level, as well as honing their research and organizational skills. They will learn how to craft an outline and use proper documentation styles, and appropriate style and language will be included in the discussion. There is no charge to participate, and it will be offered using a blended virtual and independent study format.

The students attending university workshops such as this often benefit from the distribution of hard copy versions of the learning materials used. Stationery printers will be able to offer this sort of service.

The Writing at University seminar will be held on April 9th, starting at 9:00 am, for three hours. Registration for the activity must be completed no less than 48 hour ahead of time.
