A well-loved tradition for Winnipeg families is set to make it return after a hiatus, and will be filled with fun with a purpose.
A variety of healthcare professionals and other volunteers will be lending a hand with the 35th annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic, which is slated to take place in Assiniboine Park. This will be the 35th instalment of the activity, and admission will be free.
The families that stop by the venue will be able to visit a variety of activity tents, and each will offer the opportunity to learn more about the healthcare system. The goal is for families to have fun while learning what to expect in a children’s hospital setting, and everyone can bring along their favourite stuffed toy, and these will be treated to lots of TLC. The Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba will also have a display set up that will explore this side of the health care equation.
Knowing what to expect can take much of the anxiety out of receiving healthcare for kids. All event organizers can work with local Print shops, which can provide everything from promotional Pens, stickers and other swag to full size Banners, Posters and signage.
The 35th annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic will open with a pancake breakfast at 9:30 am. The picnic will kick off at 10:00, and it will be open until 4:00
