Winnipeg run to benefit families in need
Residents of Winnipeg who would like to help make the upcoming winter holidays brighter for families in need are being encouraged to hop aboard their bike and hit the road for a special event.
The Guardians of the Children Original Winnipeg Chapter will be bringing its Dragons Run and Toy Run back for 2021, and the gathering point will be situated at Deacons Corner Petro Pass. The fee to join in is either $10 or an unwrapped toy, and both riders and passengers alike are asked to contribute.
Last year, the activity was able to raise enough money and gifts in kind to deliver Santa Bags to 23 families, and the organizers are hoping that the generosity of the area's motorcycle riding community will continue in 2021. They will also be collecting for the group's food hamper program and are hard at work trying to beat last year's donation of 10 fully stocked bins.
Offering the public an opportunity to be part of a fundraiser like this can be a lot of fun, and a banner printing company can provide everything from banners and flags for the riders to carry to certificates of thanks to present to each participant and sponsor.
This year's Dragon Run and Toy Run will be hitting the road on September 12th. Additional details, including the time when kickstands will be going up, will be provided at a later date.
