The sight of hundreds of geese flocking together for their southern migration can be very impressive, and this natural wonder is set to serve as the backdrop for an ongoing series of culinary events aimed at both Winnipeg foodies and nature lovers alike.
SMITH Restaurant and FortWhyte Alive are currently collaborating to host some special culinary events – “Goose Flight Feasts”. The events put local fare front and centre, with three courses served to diners, accompanied by craft beer and wine produced in the area.
Members of the public who would like to take a seat for one of the meals can choose from two Menus, with a different menu for each of the months the event is on offer. Both Menus open with the diner’s choice of soup or salad, as well as an entree featuring seasonal ingredients. Dessert rounds off the experience, and while the ticket holders enjoy the fare, they will be treated to the view of thousands of geese resting on the water.
Tasting glasses or other Corporate Gifts are sometimes crafted for events like this and handed out to each ticket holder as a memento of the evening.
The Goose Flight Feasts are set to delight diners until October 17th, and are on offer at FortWhyte Alive on 1961 McCreary Road, Winnipeg.
