Registration open for annual Winnipeg fundraiser

Winnipeg Police Service believes in giving back to the community, and one way it does this is by hosting a half marathon fundraiser.

The proceeds will benefit the Canadian Cancer Society, and everyone is welcome to participate regardless of ability.

The route selected will wind through Assiniboine Park, and both bike paths and roadways will be included. Those who require an assistive mobility device, such as a wheelchair, can participate as they will be accommodated for.

Registration will open to runners at 8am on the day, and the public can choose from either a half marathon or relay. Those who need a wheelchair or who have a physical challenge will start their race first, and they will be followed by the half marathon, relay and 5k runners. Photos will be taken during the event, and these will be posted online after the function is over.

Everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a medal with a unique design specifically for this event. Finishers will also be treated to a free hearty pancake breakfast. Merchandise branded with the fundraiser's Logo Design will be on offer onsite as well.

The 2020 Winnipeg Police Service Half Marathon will be hitting the road on May 3rd. It’s website is the place to go for more details and to register for this activity.
