A crafty event is on the way for Winnipeg. Designed to offer an introduction to the art of crocheting, it will teach basic skills and give each of the learners who participate an opportunity to create an item that can be as functional as it is pretty.
The class, which is intended for those who are at least 14 years of age, will see the group create soft hair scrunchies in an assortment of colours. The instruction will be provided by iHooked’s Courtney Edwards, and the crochet hooks, chunky soft yarn and other materials needed will be supplied.
While the students learn the basic stitches, they will be able to socialize and have a fun time. Each of the participants will be able to take home up to four scrunchies they will have made themselves, and since they will know the method used, they will be able to make more any time they wish.
Registration is required to take a seat in the workshop, and the fee is $35 each, which includes free admission to CRAFTED. Events like this can be included in community Calendars and other printed Promotional Products a city uses to keep the public informed about upcoming activities that will be held in their local area.
The Crocheted Scrunchie maker lab has been scheduled for November 8. It is set to be held at 300 Memorial Boulevard, and will begin at 6:00 pm.
