Winnipeg celebrates strawberry season with crafting

Summer and the sweet taste of freshly picked strawberries often go hand in hand, and a Winnipeg workshop will draw inspiration from this popular seasonal treat.

Deer Lodge Community Centre hopes everyone has a “berry” good time when they take part in a crafting session scheduled for mid-July. The attendees will each be able to design their own bespoke cloth shopping bag, and the materials will all be supplied. The cotton Totes used will be 16" by 15 " in size.

Everyone can choose one of the pre-made designs or come up with one of their own, and after they have finished and are waiting for the paint to dry, they can enjoy some fresh strawberries and chocolate while mingling with the other attendees. Tickets for this make-and-take session are $33.28, which covers the materials, instruction, taxes and fees and also a special treat.

A make and take or other crafting workshop can be fun way to learn some new techniques and also meet others who enjoy the activity. Flyer printing and other marketing services for a function like this one can be sourced from area Print shops.

The ‘Tote-ally Awesome and Berry Good Times!’ session is scheduled for July 11th. It will begin at 11:15 am, and anyone who would like to register may do so by visiting its Eventbrite listing.
