Winnipeg will be marking the arrival of the summer season by welcoming the return of a popular civic event.
The Doors Open Winnipeg program gives the public a sneak peek into a variety of buildings and other venues they might not otherwise have access to. This will be the 20th year that the function has taken place, and it will explore the city's past, present and future.
At many of the stops that are on the Doors Open route, volunteers will be on hand to lead tours and answer questions from the visitors. There is no entry fee being charged. The event will run for two days, and along with the indoor activities, there will be fun set up outdoors as well. As in its previous instalments, the People's Choice Award will be included in the festivities.
Heritage Winnipeg, which is the organizer of this annual occasion, has explained that it is hoping to hear more from businesses and organizations that would like to get involved in the initiative. Information packages for upcoming events like this one can be prepared by a local brochure printing company.
The dates for this year's Doors Open Winnipeg will be May 27th and 28th. Details about the various venues and what they will have on offer will be released at a later date.
