Many people pass by municipal and other buildings every day without giving much thought to what goes on inside. A Winnipeg event can change that, and it will offer a sneak peek into the inner workings of the city.
Heritage Winnipeg noted that it is pleased to be hosting another session of Doors Open Winnipeg, and it will be the 17th year that this function has been held. It can give the public a chance to learn more about how their community operates as well as its history, and all ages can participate.
This annual event will take place over one weekend, and there will be walking tours and other activities. Volunteers will be stationed at each building to supply information and answer questions, and this is all on offer at no cost. Participants will be treated to an insider’s view of some of the city’s architecture and other features, and as many of these buildings are usually closed to the public, this can be an opportunity people won’t want to miss.
