In the lead up to the holiday season, many Winnipeg residents will be on the hunt for the perfect gift, and an upcoming pop-up market may offer them an opportunity to score such gifts that is both fun and good for the environment.
Rizzuto Hall will be the location for the Merry THRIFTmas shopping party. The idea behind the event is that it will make it easier for members of the public to find a gently used or vintage gift for everyone on their list, diverting waste from area landfills and also keeping more money in people's wallets.
Those who stop will be able to browse through a variety of goods, including upcycled items. With some luck, they may be able to score some fun vintage finds, as well as items they can upgrade with their own creative flair. They can also stop by the bake sale, and everyone is encouraged to bring along their friends and family and make a day out of the occasion.
