Winnipeg gets rolling with sushi class
Winnipeg residents have been invited to attend a sushi preparation class being held at a local venue.
The Leaf offers the city’s residents a variety of learning opportunities, and it has organized a hands-on sushi workshop for late June. Tickets to be part of the fun are $80.00 each, and members will receive a discount off their registration fee.
The instructor for the activity will teach how to prepare the ingredients supplied for sushi assembly, and everyone will get in some practice. They will learn about what type of rice to use, as well as different rolling methods, and there may be taste testing along the way. Sadao Ono will be sharing his skills, and the class runtime will be two hours. The final date to sign up will be June 26th, and the goal is for everyone to leave with knowledge they can use to prepare this popular dish in their own home kitchen.
A culinary class can be a lot of fun, and organizers often choose to have recipe cards and other materials prepared in advance by area stationery printers. These may be laminated so they can easily be wiped clean.
