This September, Winnipeg residents will be hitting the trail in support of those living with the impact of a stroke, and everyone is welcome to run, walk or wheel their way along using an assistive device.
The Wheel and Walk for Stroke Recovery fundraiser will be getting fall off to a fun start in Provencher Park. It was originally scheduled for the spring, but it has been moved to September, and the monies raised to date have been used to fund an assortment of programming in the local area.
Both in-person and virtual options are available for the run, walk and roll, and the staging area will offer an assortment of games, as well as a pop up barbecue station manned by Smokin’ Bobs so that everyone can purchase lunch on site. A draw for a basket filled with prizes donated by the area's corporate community is on the agenda, and additional tickets for the draw will be allocated based on how much money an individual raises.
To thank each of the supporters of the day for coming out, they will all receive a registration package. Run and walk organizers often choose Promotional Products such as T-Shirts, running bibs and lanyards to give to each participant.
The 2022 Wheel and Walk for Stroke Survivors will be held on September 18th, and the staging area will open at 10:00 am. It will be a family friendly event.
