Winnipeg exhibit showcases beauty of bonsai

Bonsai is cultivated and grown using careful wiring, pruning and other techniques, and an upcoming Winnipeg festival will put these plantings front and centre.

The Bonsai Society of Winnipeg is setting up shop at WAG-Qaumajuq for its 40th anniversary showcase, and it will be an immersive experience. It may be appreciated by those who would like to try their hand at the art form or simply enjoy viewing the beauty of bonsai specimens.

The trees that will be on display will be grown in the local area, and both indoor and outdoor varieties will be included. The organizers have noted that the outdoor species may be more of a challenge to grow, especially in deep winter. The attendees can learn more about this process, and there will be guided tours, planting and care demonstrations by subject matter experts and a presentation. An opening Night Gala is also in the works.

Special exhibits may call for specialized printing services, and a Print professional from the local area will be pleased to help. They can work closely with organizers and can provide everything from personalized invites to a snappy Logo Design.

Growing bonsai can be a true labour of love, and this showcase of the skills of local growers will run from June 26th to June 29th. More details are available on the WAG-Qaumajuq website.
